- Makeup by Jaycie is owned by Jaycie Kurfess. After many years of doing makeup as just a hobby, Jaycie decided to turn it into a career. She has always known that she was meant to work in the art field due to her passion for creativity and individualism. Jaycie started college at the University of Illinois at Chicago studying art, but decided to transfer to Elmhurst College to continue her education and then graduated with a bachelor degree in Business Art.
After college Jaycie learned the harsh reality that a lot of artist do, getting a job as an artist is difficult. That is when she decided to follow her passion for makeup. Jaycie’s previous experiences of working in a salon as a makeup artist and working on bridal parties gave her a strong background to build off of. Jaycie enrolled in classes at Makeup First and earned her state certificate as a professional makeup artist.
Recently, Jaycie has worked on fashion shows, photo shoots, bridal parties, proms, plays, and movies. As Jaycie pursues her makeup career she realizes more and more that doing makeup is just as much of an art form as painting a mural. Her style is very versatile and will vary depending on what type of look her and her clients have decided on. It doesn’t matter if Jaycie is working on the set of a movie or a bridal party; her true passion to work with people and make clients happy is evident.
